Waiting for 2020: looking back and ahead
We are at the end of the second decade of this millennium. We will leave behind the 2019 and everything it represented for Matera and for our hotel.
The year as the European Capital of Culture will end on Friday 20 December. The closing event, called “Open future, together!” and hosted at Cava del Sole, will be devoted, at first, to passing of the baton to the two cities that will be the European Capitals of Culture next year: Galway (Ireland) and Rijeka (Croatia).
Later, there will be a great concert hosted by the artist Manuel Agnelli with his band Afterhours, who will bring to the stage other great artists of national and international music scene, such as Carmen Consoli, Daniele Silvestri and Rancore, Lous and the Yakuza, Fatoumata Diawara and Damon Albarn.
Cenone of San Silvestro
After the closing celebration of the year as the European Capital of Culture, we will dedicate to the holiday season and to the last preparations for the cenone of San Silvestro. It will be an opportunity to say goodbye to 2019 and welcome to 2020.
The menu of our cenone will be handled by the well known chef Nicola Stella from “Le Bubbole” restaurant.
He will combine local and seasonal products and the culinary traditions of the cenone.
We can’t wait to make a toast together on New Year’s Eve.
The 2019 of Palazzo Gattini in a nutshell
Before leaving 2019 we want to fix some important events.Every event was great and we are sure we don’t forget anything early, on the contrary we hope it highlights the future.
The 2019 has been a great year for Palazzo Gattini, too.
- We received some important recognitions for the quality of our hospitality.
- We hosted some famous guests, such as Cary Joji Fukunaga, Daniel Craig e Léa Seydoux.
- We attended the inauguration of the Alvino 1884 Hotel & Resort, a new luxury hotel in an ancient mill.
We wish you a happy new year!
