James Bond in Matera: the great cinema chooses Matera and its Sassi once again

We may say that the great cinema lives in Matera.
Matera hosted the sets of many movies, there is no time to say goodbye to a troupe that a new one is already in the city (the last one was Terrence Malick who chose Matera as set for his in progress movie “The last planet”).

A city for James Bond

The last film production hosted by Matera was related to 007 “No time to die”, the 25th of the series, in the theatre on the February 2020.
James Bond caused a kind of organized chaos and aroused people’s curiosity.
Matera was a good set for pursuits, shots and beautiful Bond’s cars. All sets were ironclad to allow a proper development of the shooting and to avoid unauthorised previews.

The celebrities choose Palazzo Gattini

Palazzo Gattini contributed to the movie carrying out a very sensitive assignment: guarantee privacy and serenity to the movie director, Cary Joji Fukunaga, and to the main actors, Daniel Craig and Léa Seydoux. Indeed, all of them stayed at our luxury hotel.
In spite of the rich accommodating offer, they chose Palazzo Gattini because we are very experienced in hosting influential people and our team is reserved and respectful of the privacy of our hosts, both influential or ordinary people.

Palazzo Gattini was the place designated to rest and recharge at the end of the day, while all the city was enthusiastic and excited.
Furthermore, our hosts chose the restaurant “Le Bubbole” and the cuisine of the chef Nicola Stella: the chef cooked special dinners for Cary Joji Fukunaga, Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux and their entourage. We set up a candlelight intimate atmosphere in our roof to make them have a dinner while enjoying the view of illuminated Sassi.

We hope that this movie will reach a wide audience and be an instrument to make known Matera to all who have never heard about it.
We will continue to do our part.
